There is a particular Nissan commercial that was on TV this past Saturday while we were at home enjoying, College Football (ahh, so glad it's that time of the year again)!
I was researching baby stuff online so not paying attention to the commercial until Jeff starts cracking up. From there it goes a little something like this:
M: What are you laughing at?
J: This commercial
M: Rewind the tv, I want to see
Then I watch the commercial....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlFR5cEKiJg The title should give you a heads up on what you are about to watch..."Kidzilla"
We watch the commercial, Jeff continues to laugh as I freak out. Yes that's right, a little dramatic I know but so true.
M: No way, do boys really do that
J: Yes, I did all of that...except I don't remember flushing anything down the toilet
The conversation between us went on from there but you get the idea. Every time during the games Saturday, when the commercial came on, he would tell me to watch my favorite commercial. Oh boy, the humor Jeff has. ;)
Don't misunderstand me, I'm stoked we're having a boy. Couldn't be more excited. A boy, means no make-up, don't have to do her hair in pony tails, curl it, etc.,...sounds fabulous to me. With a boy, I am nervous enough at the thought of our little guy wanting to play with bugs or come in covered in dirt & mud and everything else that boys do, this though was a complete surprise to me. Girls just play nicely with barbies, dolls...or so I did. However now you're telling me boys really act and treat their things and things around the house like this little kidzilla in the Nissan commercial? Oh boy I hope not. If so, I hope it is short lived phase. And when these things happen, I'll have to walk away and say something along the lines of, "I'll let your father deal with this." Ha.
A boy will be fun, but this commercial as an only child and girl came as a BIG surprise to me.

Perfect song! :-) Boys are SO much different than girls... and I'm telling you, I've heard of someone's watch going down the toilet. I'm keeping close tabs on mine, because I never know what my little man is going to do next!! :o)
ReplyDeleteAnd Amen about not having to do a girl's hair in the morning... boys ARE so much easier to get ready!!
Hahahaha I love this post! When I found out we were having a boy I was like "hmm what am I going to do with a boy," because I've nannied for boys, but having one is different. And just watching Jake vs. Logan is so crazy - he's full-on boy, as you know. :) Tell you what - let's plan on calling each other a lot for moral support! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha...Amen is right Jules. I know I owe my mom for many mornings making her late when I had a "bump" in my hair so would take it out and come back to her asking her to redo it. Poor lady. Looking forward to having a little guy..not dealing with doing his hair, etcetera! Kelley - you and I have a deal. I will call you often for moral support and you do the same. Maybe let's just set up a weekly Skype time now. :)
