Anything we're missing?

My baby bag arrived a couple weeks ago.  I was so excited when it finally arrived.  Now excited for the day when I actually get to start using it.

The baby bag

Before I can use the baby bag, it needs to get packed.  I started this task as soon as it arrived, of course what are we missing?  Therefore I'm asking for your input.  Mom's and dad's, please chime in if there is anything you have found you can't live without in your baby bag that we need to think about adding to ours.  Here is what we have so far:

1) Diapers
2) travel size wipes
3) travel size diaper rash cream
4) mini travel size Purrell
5) Band aids
6) travel size hand lotion
7) travel size Kleenex
8) diaper disposal bags
9) burp cloth
10) hooter hider
11) change of clothes; onesie for him & shirt for me
12) Wet Happened? bag...the lining is waterproof and for any and all soiled items that might get wet when out and about to keep your baby bag/car from getting wet!  Ingenious
The Wet Happened? bag
13) Pacifier

We still have a ton of room in the bag.  The Petunia Pickle Bottom bags are amazing.  Full of pockets and places for everything to go.  They even come with a roll out changing pad with their bags.  However what have we missed?  What do we need to add?  Anything we don't need?

As he gets older, we'll add things like a little toy to keep him occupied when out, some type of snack, sun block, teething ring.

Anyway, we have some things so far in the bag we think we'll need.  We're new to this though so any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Preparation is half the battle

Constantly we are asked if we're ready to be parents?  Our answer is, "yes, as ready as you can be to be first time parents."  We don't know what it will be like for sure but we both are true believes that with  anything in life, preparation is half the battle.  Therefore we're preparing for those things we can and everything else will have to figure out as we go.

In preparing for our son to arrive, our first task was preparing the house for him.  That has been done for weeks.  Crib was put together Thanksgiving weekend.  All sheets, clothes, blankets, etcetera, for little guy have been washed & put away as of that weekend too.  And as for labor (which I'd be lying if I didn't say I wasn't nervous and bit scared for) portion of this adventure, we're ready for the trip to the hospital with having our bags packed for a couple weeks now too.  We're also ready for the day we get to bring him home, with the car seat all ready for that exciting day.

Therefore, it is safe to say, we're prepared for what we can.  I know I've over packed for the hospital, I have a bag, our son has a bag, Jeff has a bag and there is a bag for technology/busy items (laptop, iPod, video camera, dvds, chargers for everything and magazines and books).  That is four bags.  Not including the pillow, blanket taking for Jeff and little guys car seat.  You can say I might over prepare for some things but I prefer it that way.  I'd much rather prefer to be over prepared than not at all prepared.  Since this is something I could be prepared for, we're ready and as prepared as we can be.  We're ready to get this show on the road and our little guy to get here so we can finally meet him.  Hopefully one day soon that day will finally come, although I have a feeling he's hanging out for the long haul.  No matter when he graces us with his presence, at least we are prepared for the hospital and to bring him home, as best we can.  After all, preparation is half the battle.

Oh so comfortable

We have a new piece of furniture.  Well we have a few, all because of the little man who could literally grace us with his presence any day now (please buddy, mommy is begging you to come out & meet us...let's say, now?!?!).  Anyway, the one piece of furniture we got for his room, that will later go in the office of our house or worst case scenario the basement is a chair.  Not just any chair though, rather a chair that rocks, reclines, is overstuffed & beyond comfy.  This chair is not just comfortable but currently my favorite piece of furniture in our place.  It truly is "Oh so comfortable".  And I'm going to be selfish over it too.  The three reasons I plan on being selfish over the new chair are as follows:  1) It is oh so comfortable and I'd prefer to sit in this chair over any other place or piece of furniture in our house.  2) I plan on sitting in this chair often when I feed, hold or just hang out with our little guy.  3) I am also going to be super cautious of people sitting on it and gauge if I need to possibly tell them to vacate the chair based off what they are wearing and doing since it is a light colored fabric.  How light you ask...very.  That also means no drinks by it other than water.

Back story though on the decision...from the moment we saw this chair, we were going with this one particular pattern.  This pattern however comes in two fabric color choice only, brown or cream.  We were for sure going with the brown.  Not only would it match is room the best but it was a safer color choice for obvious reasons.  From the beginning we also knew which style of chair we were going with, the Tryp.  The color choice all changed one day in October when we were in Scottsdale.  It was all because my mother-in-law and I went to a baby boutique store and viola, I saw one of the chairs with our fabric but in the cream, not brown.  It looked amazing.  After that Jeff and I changed our minds and the decision was made, cream was the color we would go with.  The brown you see was too dark.  We were always a little hesitant over the darkness of the brown, but why would we dare to go with cream.  Then we started analyzing this more...would spit up show more on the dark?  Would such a dark brown go with as much in our house, probably not.  So the decision was made about 5-6 weeks ago, the chair was ordered.  We stuck with the original style of chair we liked from day one as well as the fabric choice, however we changed our mind on the color of fabric and went with the cream instead of brown.  Last Thursday I am happy to share our chair was delivered.  And it really is oh so comfortable (I am currently sitting in it and enjoying every second).  I sit in it often now and love it.  If working from home on my lap top, the time goes by.  Yet no matter how long I am in it, no part of my very pregnant body feels cramping or aches when I get up.  Which is something I can rarely say these days.  Of course, I also tend to not sit in it as much as I would like to or should right now because I'm a nervous nelly over, what happens if my water breaks and I am sitting in this glorious chair.  That would be horrific.  Jeff even asked me the other day why I wasn't sitting in the chair.  I gave him the exact answer, "I am nervous of my water breaking while I am sitting in the chair."  Of course tonight, I am taking my chances because my body is exhausted and aching and this chair is soothing and relaxing right now.

Although totally out of character for us to pick such a light colored fabric, I'm happy with our choice and simply going to be cautious mama over this piece of furniture.  Of course do we expect it to always stay this clean and nice?  No, not at all.  We'd be fooling ourselves if we did.  We're about to have a kid, a little boy, so we're not expecting anything to be kept how we are used to things being.  Which will be good for us to relax a little and not fret.  Things are going to get dirty.  That is inevitable.  And it is only a chair, a piece of furniture.  It can always be reupholstered or covered up.  Besides I'm a huge klutz and I'm sure I will be the first to leave a mark and get a stain on the chair, not Jeff and not our son.

Anyone pregnant out there and looking for a chair for your nursery?  If so, I highly suggest the brand "Best Home Furnishings" and the "Story time Series" of chairs.  I know a couple other people who have chosen chairs from this same series and all are happy with their chairs too.  Check them out some time: http://www.besthf.com/

I would post a picture however that would mean I would need to take one with my camera, upload it and then add to this post.  So I don't put that off, you'll just have to take my word.  It's the Tryp, in cream and it's comfy!  Besides I don't want to remove myself from the chair right now to take the photo.  Maybe you'll see a photo of it in a future post.

Until then I'm off to search the Internet and keep relaxing in this oh so comfy chair.

My Oh My

I have been slacking.  Let's be honest, not slacking, really lazy better describes it.  However, I've only been lazy when it comes to uploading photos from our camera to computer. When I get lazy on that, I also cannot update the Blog.  I'm not lazy when it comes to anything else but for some reason slack from time to time when I need to upload photos to our computer.  Which I don't understand why I am like this.  It takes a mere 30 seconds maximum from start to finish to get the photos off our camera onto our MacBook.  And what a waste since I have been good about getting Jeff to take photos for our memories but also those to share.  When I get lazy, that means the photos I have him take either never make it to the blog, or by time they do, they are outdated.  After uploading the most recent photos tonight, I decided to look over past albums since we moved to Colorado in April before getting on with this post.  While reminiscing over the photos taken the past 9 1/2 months, I noticed a common theme.  That common theme in all those photos is my belly.  My Oh My, how it, my belly, has changed.  How my body as a whole has changed.  I have a flood of emotions over this realization.  Oh well, it's for our little guy, it is nature everyone says and I plan on living at the gym.  I hope you can find me 5 out of 7 days a week doing one of the following... getting my spin on in spin class, attending a boot camp class, running around one of the many amazing parks in Colorado with our Bob Jogging stroller, little guy and my husband alongside (he is my favorite running partner btw), using my ski pass and skiing the amazing Colorado Mountains, and everything else to help get back to what I looked like 9 1/2 months ago.  Aside from being vain and that being my main motivation, it is also due to looking forward to (at the current moment fretting over the thought & major task it will be with how I feel today) being able to wear all my non maternity clothes.  My old wardrobe will feel like a whole new wardrobe since it's been a few months since I've been able to wear my non maternity clothes.  Oh the joyful thought of the day when I am able to rock all my jeans, pants, tops...EVERYTHING.  And fear and anxiety I will be dealing with until I am back in all those clothes too.  Anyway, enough blabbering and back to what I really need to do...share the photos on a new blog post.

Total Lunar Eclipse....check it out

Starting tonight and continuing through early morning hours there is going to be a Total Lunar Eclipse.  If it is clear where you are, try to check it out.  Below is a link to MSNBC's page and timing for the Total Lunar Eclipse where you are at.

Go here to check out local times and try & catch the event!

Slopes, here he comes...

Not sure if you remember this post from May (2010/2011 Season Ski Passes) but after we moved here, we were already preparing for our first winter living in Colorado and bought our 2010-2011 ski passes...in April.  Of course, a couple weeks later we found out I was pregnant.  Needless to say, I won't be hitting the slopes as often as originally anticipated and will have to wait until after our little guy arrives to go skiing this season.  Jeff however gets to hit the slopes...NOW.  And the weather has been optimal for doing just that since the mountains have been getting dumped on by fresh snow for weeks now.

In preparation for living here and getting to enjoy the mountains and skiing, we got Jeff a pair of ski's, ski bindings, poles & a helmet.  Years past, those were the things we always rented for our annual ski trips.  Jeff is now ready to go skiing at a moments notice and have some fun!

Jeff's sweet skis

This past week Jeff went with his buddy Matt and skied Breckenridge.  He had a blast.  And loved his new ski gear.

Jeff ready as he left to hit the slopes for first time as a CO resident and first time for the 2010/2011 ski season

Can't wait to get a few days of skiing in with my QT husband after our son arrives.   Hopefully I'll get to hit the slopes at least a couple times with our friends Matt & Jenny too.  After all, I need to get use out of my ski pass since I can't return it or get a refund.

Happy Winter & Ski season to all!

Recommendations please

There is so much variety these days when it comes to baby products on the market.  I almost think our parents had it so much easier then we do, since there were only a few items to choose from.  Since the items were more limited 25+ years ago, it made our parents job of selecting which bottle, pacifier, diaper (etc) they were going to use less complicated.  Not to mention no internet, so less searches to find conflicting results, opinions and articles on the same exact products in every category imaginable like we have now.

At this point, I have pretty much decided upon most items we'll be using for our little guy.  Obviously some things we start off with we might end up changing to something different over the course of him as a baby, which I am fine with.  However there are a few items I am on the fence about which brand we want to go with and simply can't make up my mind what we should get.  I can read the internet reviews and articles on the various products every hour of every day if I wanted to but these last few things I want to ask the people I know to chime in and please give me your opinion.  Here they are the items I want to know about....Baby bath soaps, shampoos, lotions, diaper cream.

When it comes to bath soaps, shampoos and lotions, I've always heard of and been most familiar with Johnson & Johnson baby products.  However if you've ever read the ingredient panel, there are so many additives I'm no longer sure on the Johnson & Johnson products.  So unsure, I actually removed that stuff from my registry and went with Susan Brown's Baby products.  You can check out the website of their products here.  The reason being is that I have very sensitive skin and in case our little man does too, I just don't want to risk it.  However, I ask, am I being overly cautious and funny?  Moms, what bath/lotion products do you use or did you use on your babies?

Now for diaper creams, which ones do you Moms out there like the best for you baby?

Obviously this is a case by case basis and our little guys body could like something completely different then your baby/kids.  However I still want you moms out there to chime in please and give me your opinions on what worked and didn't work for your kiddos.

And since I'm asking for your take on baby/kid items.  If you don't mind sharing more....what are some of your favorite items out there that you just couldn't go without?  Any items you thought you would like or need and didn't?

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Sugar Cookies + Royal Icing Tutorial

There is something particularly special about this time of year and my desire and need to bake sugar cookies.  I have yet to do so but only because I've been sick all week.  Don't think it is smart for me to bake cookies to give to others and have us eat too when I am sick.  Not to mention don't exactly have the energy to do so right now.

Anyway, on yet another fabulous blog that is out there (mind you I don't even know this person but follow and found out from a friends blog I follow), came across a post on "Sugar Cookies + Royal Icing Tutorial".  Say what?  Not only the recipes, but tutorial and beautiful pictures too.  I'm going to ditch my recipes and try hers this year when I'm ready to bake.

Check it out:  Sugar Cookies + Royal Icing Tutorial by Emily

Can't wait to try this....

Today I seem to be on a roll posting recipes to our blog, so when I came across this one, I thought I would share.  I haven't tried it myself yet but sounds amazing.  Salads are my all time favorite thing to eat so I think this might become one of my new favorite salads and one I can make at home too!! Woo hoo.

This recipe is from another blog..."Jilly & Mia: Girls with Good Taste"  They have a great blog with random great posts.  Check them out from time to time.

Here is the info for the salad:

Kelly's Holiday Salad w/ Blush Vinaigrette

Salad:
Mix of Spinach and bib lettuce
sugar snap peas
sliced pears (or any fruit or berry in season)
pomegranate
green onion
candied walnuts
crumbled Gorgonzola cheese (feta or blue will work as well)
Add whatever else you have on hand including crumbled bacon, apple, red onion, etc.
Proportions don't matter so just toss it all together and dress just before serving.

Blush Vinaigrette:
1/2 C seasoned rice vinegar
1/2 C red wine vinegar
3/4 C sugar (or approx 1/3 C agave nectar)
1/2 yellow onion
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 T dried parsley
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 C olive oil
Blend all thoroughly and let sit a couple hours before serving. As always, my measurements are approx! Add or subtract to taste.

Candied Walnuts:
1 1/2 cups walnuts (or pecans)
1 egg white
1/2 cup brown sugar
Whip egg white with fork until frothy. Add walnuts and brown sugar, stir, pour (single layer) onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 18-20 minutes. It will look like a giant cookie. Let cool and break apart.

I think I know what I'll be making for us next week as part of our Christmas dinner!!

Crock Pot Penne Lasagna

I love our crock pot and really enjoy finding new, easy, and delicious crock pot recipes.  Anyone who knows me knows I don't cook/use pasta often but this recipe sounded too great to not try.  Glad I did too.

Recipe

Ingredients
1 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
15 oz. part-skim ricotta cheese
1 lb. part-skim mozzarella cheese, grated, 1 cup reserved for topping
3 tsp. extra virgin olive oil, separated
8 oz. white mushrooms, sliced
1 lb. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained until very dry (see note)
1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1/2 lb. ground turkey
4 cans (14 oz) diced tomatoes, juices drained, separated
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
12 oz. mini penne (or other small tubular pasta) par-cooked 5 minutes (until barely cooked), drained and cooled
2 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. kosher salt
1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
cooking spray

Directions:
Combine Parmesan, ricotta and all but one cup of the mozzarella.  Reserve.

Heat a 12" nonstick skillet over medium high-heat; add 1-tsp oil, saute mushrooms until golden brown.  Season with 1/2 tsp salt & a 1/4 tsp pepper.  Mix with drained spinach.  Reserve.

Heat 1 tsp oil; saute onions and garlic until soft, about five minutes.  Set aside.  In the same skillet, heat 1 tsp oil and browned; ground turkey; transfer to bowl with onions.  Stir in 1 cup diced tomatoes, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper.  Reserve.

Combine tomato sauce, remaining diced tomatoes, basil and oregano; stir into pasta.

Lightly coat the interior of the ceramic pot of a slow cooker with cooking spray.  Using 1/3 of the pasta mixture, make a layer on the bottom of the insert.  Spread meat mixture evenly over pasta.  Cover with 1/2 the cheese mixture.

Make a second layer of pasta; top with spinach and mushroom mixture.  Cover with remaining ricotta cheese mixture.  Make a final layer of pasta and top with reserved mozzarella.

Cover and cook on Low setting, using the timer function for 6 hours.  Slow cooker with automatically switch to Warm until ready to serve.

Note: To drain spinach thoroughly, first squeeze out as much water as possible with your hands.  Lay the spinach on a clean towel, roll up, and wring out the rest.  (You will end up with about 1/2 cup dry spinach that can then be mixed with the mushrooms).

**Meghan's further suggestions**
1) Use your favorite spaghetti sauce to have on the side to add on top of once served on each plate
2) Make sure to serve or turn off heat completely once done cooking at end of 6 hours so don't overcook

Enjoy!!

Favorite Holiday Cranberry Dish

I love cranberries.  I drink 100% natural cranberry juice mixed with water every week year round.  Needless to say, I'm a big cranberry fan.  They are very good for you and delish.

The source of this recipe is one of my all time favorites; Cooking Light Magazine!  My mom first made this back Thanksgiving 2003.  Ever since it has been one of my favorites and I like to make it every year.  I have to make it every year, either for family holiday events, friend holiday events or just so we can have to eat at home.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup thinly sliced dried apricots (about 3 oz)
1/4 cup sherry or orange juice (I use OJ and do the 50% less sugar variety)
3/4 cup water
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
1 (12-ounce) package fresh or frozen cranberries (I always go with fresh)

Directions:
Combine apricots and sherry/OJ in a small bowl; cover and let stand for 8 hours (keep in fridge for that time)
Combine water and sugar in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil.  Add apricot mixture, honey, and cranberries.  Cook over medium heat 8 minutes or until slightly thick (if you used fresh cranberries that you placed in the freezer, this step will take longer due to cranberries being frozen).  When done at this point, not only with the contents be slightly thicker consistency but also the cranberries pop and open up.  Spoon mixture into a bowl; cover and chill.

Suggestion:
1) Add 3 heaping teaspoons full of "Low Sugar Sweet Orange Marmalade" to the mixture when you combine all ingredients in saucepan.
2) Add some fresh grated orange rind to the top of the dish and mix in prior to serving

Enjoy!!

No oven necessary

For Thanksgiving this year, I took a chance on a new recipe.  The dish was, "Sweet Potato Casserole with Pecan Topping" and I made it in my slow cooker!

It seems inevitable that every big holiday, there are a surplus of dishes that require the oven to be made.  Others need an oven just to be warmed prior to sitting down.  Now unless you have five ovens and a couple warming drawers, there always seems to be some sort of major oven schedule planning required for big holidays/family events.  At least that is my past experience.  Of course, once the oven schedule is planned out, you need to either have multiple timers or be good at keeping track of time for each dish, to ensure stay on schedule.  I don't know about you, but I find that can be difficult amongst all the holiday fun.

Even though I got nervous trying out a new recipe for a major holiday, I thought I would take a chance on this new dish since it didn't require an oven!  And I'm proud to say, it was not only easy but extremely delicious too!

Here is the recipe...

Ingredients:
2, 29oz cans sweet potatoes in syrup, drained & mashed (about 4 cups)
1/3 cup butter, melted
3 TBSP, light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp., ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp., ground nutmeg
1/3 cup, heavy whipping cream
3/4 cup, chopped pecans
3/4 cup, firmly packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup, all purpose flour
2 TBSP, butter, melted

Directions:
Combine first 8 ingredients in a large bowl; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth.  Add whipped cream, stir well.
Pour into a lightly greased 3-quart slow cooker.
Combine pecans & remaining 3 ingredients in a small bowl (I also added 2tsp or so of cinnamon to this mix).  Take the mix and sprinkle over sweet potatoes.
Cover with lid and cook on High for 3-4 hours.

Another variation to suggest....marshmallows.  I added some mini marshmallows on top of the dish for the last 30-45 minutes of cooking time.  Just prior to serving, stirred to combine everything in the crock pot and placed in a serving dish.

Done & Done.  A yummy, easy, no oven necessary dish.  :)

Hope you enjoy!

P.S. - The recipe calls for a 3-quart slow cooker.  We have a 6.5 quart slow cooker so I made 1 1/2 batches of the above.  Gave us plenty for everyone to enjoy night of Thanksgiving and leftovers to enjoy for a couple days too! :)

No-sew fleece blanket

Holiday season 2008, a friend, Alicia T., told me about this amazing craft that was fun and easy.  What she shared with me is how to make a "no-sew" fleece blanket.  Exactly as the name suggests, it is a blanket you make, yet no sewing necessary!  No needle or thread.  No sewing machine.  Simply two pieces of identical sized fabric, scissors and a ruler.  How great is that?

That year, I decided to give it a try and made one for my Grandma Vi for Christmas.  Grandma Vi gets cold easily (think that is where my mom gets it from) and her favorite color is blue.  Therefore from Jeff and I that year, she received a "no-sew" blanket, in blue.  We wanted to make sure she stays warm and cozy when hanging around her house.

Now that we live in Colorado, where the climate and temperatures can vary greatly compared to what we were used to in AZ.  It makes sense to have blankets around the house to use in the cold winter months.  Of course, something I recently realized is with being from AZ, we don't have many blankets.  We have a nice throw draped over a chair in our living room, however that is pretty much it.  I decided we needed more blankets and our first to be added to our home and help keep us warm this winter, a "no-sew" blanket.

When I made Grandma Vi's blanket, I did one piece of fabric a solid blue and the other a blue with white & gray pattern.  For ours, I did two solid colors....Yellow & Dark Gray.  The colors in our Master bedroom are white, gray & yellow so seemed the perfect combination.

Steps to make your own No-Sew blanket....

1) For each blank you are going to make, you need to select two separate pieces of no-pill fleece fabric at your local fabric/craft store.  Further need to decide on what combo:
   a) two pieces of fabric that are the same color or pattern
   b) two pieces of fabric that are different solid colors
   c) two pieces of fabric, one being a solid color and other being having a pattern/design
You get the idea...be creative and select two pieces of fabric you want for your blanket, no matter the variation

2) Have each piece you'll use for the blanket cut at the craft/fabric store.  You'll need 2 - 3 yards of each.  Whatever size you go with, you will want to have both pieces cut the same size.  I went with 2 1/2 yards of each piece of material and find that to a great size when finished.  Whatever floats your boat though on the size.

3) Take the fabric home and wash & dry the fabric prior to starting your blanket

4) Trim off selvage edges

5) Lay out each piece of fabric and place the fleece layers wrong sides together.

6) Cut 4" or 5" (whatever you prefer) squares out of both piece of fleece at each corner.  I went for 4" square.  Best to have some template you make to place over each corner.  Either a piece of paper, fabric, etc, pre-cut into the exact square you want to cut out of each corner.  This ensures all corners are cut exactly the same.

7) To make fringe, cut 4" or 5" (whatever size you went with in #6 above, stick with for this step), into fleece, at 1" intervals around all four sides of both layers.
   - since I went with a 4" square for my blanket in step #6, for step #7, I cut 4" fringe

8) Knot fringe pieces together, using one strand from the top layer and one strand from the bottom.  Repeat around all four edges.

Done!   Now you are ready to snuggle up & stay warm using your no-sew blanket!

Notes from AZ Trip (October 2010)

These days, I have the intention of blogging often and lots of things I think to blog about.  However if I don't put my thoughts in a memo in my blackberry, I can't remember what was so great I needed/wanted to blog about.  I am going to blame "pregnancy brain" for my major forgetfulness these past few months as it is sooooooo not like me.

Thankfully while in AZ I did jot down a couple thoughts in my phone while visiting in October.  I know there were more things but here is what I wrote down, therefore the things I have to share...

1) AZ is the HOME of vanity license plates.  Our friend, Mike M., pointed this out to Jeff & I when he moved to Scottsdale about a year & a half ago from Orlando, FL.  I started paying attention at that time and agreed with him.  However after living in CO and coming back to visit AZ, I agree more so now then I did.  So here it is.....AZ drivers seem to have the MOST personalized vanity license plates over most other states.

2) There were an overabundance of election signs in the ground, EVERYWHERE you looked.  Election signs are so much more tamed in Colorado.  Thankful for that.

3) It was wayyyyyyy too hot for it to be mid/end of October.  Couple days the temps were 98 & 99.  That is toooooo hot.  Pregnant or not.  The weather is generally cooler in October in AZ.

4) Was definitely nice to know how to get anywhere and everywhere without having to use car Navigation.

5) Missed all the beautiful palm trees

6) Didn't miss everything else being a varied shade of tan/brown

7) Enjoyed having In & Out Burger....a couple times.  Jeff and I would normally go once a week or else once every other week when we lived in AZ.  Definitely miss In & Out burger!

8) Due to the heat, being very active and what seemed like constantly on the go, not to mention a little more humidity in the air, my feet swelled up like sausages a couple of times.  Seriously they got soooo big and scary looking.  It was gross and very uncomfortable.  Nothing a soak in the in-laws 64 degree pool couldn't relieve and take care of

9) Enjoyed running outside and not having an elevation of 5280 or higher to deal with.  However that trip was the last time I ran too.  Glad was able to get in a couple good runs and thoroughly enjoyed them!

10) Missed our family & friends.  Sad we didn't get see everyone we wanted to but was great getting to see, catch up and spend time with those we were able to.

Belly Photos.....

Here are some photos from a few weeks ago and at the end updated photos from this week...you can tell a HUGE difference in the belly.

 Belly 30 weeks, 6 days

Excuse how I look on these more recent photos, they were taken after a long day at work.

34 weeks, 1 day preggo...
