I feel....movement!!!

That's right folks, our little baby has been moving for about the last week or just over. At first I could only notice right when I would lay down in bed and start relaxing. The movement also wasn't felt every night. However now it is getting more noticeable and stronger and more frequent. Monday 8/23 was the very first time I felt movement when not laying down to go to sleep for the night. Granted I was sitting but it was in the middle of the day. Little bugger was doing a somersault or something. Pregnancy is such an amazing experience and even more so now that I can feel our little nugget moving around in there from time to time. I'm sure once he or she is bigger and jabbing me in the ribs and organs I will say something completely different from this post but for now, it is miraculous and I love every minute of it!! At that time it will still be miraculous, I just won't be comfortable and giddy at the painful jabs I hear all other preggos talk about. Regardless I am very excited and love to share the new development. I feel you in there baby Saar. Stay healthy & please keep cooking...we need you in there for another 17 weeks (minimum).

Baby Saar's 1st outfit

My in-law's, John & Barb and brother-in-law, Ryan, came in town last Thursday afternoon. One night this weekend before we went out to dinner, Barb pulled a little something sweet out of her bag. And by sweet, I don't mean candy or a dessert. Rather something wrapped in baby wrapping paper (precious) and inside, the very first outfit for Baby Saar!

It is so adorable. The outfit is a 4 piece layette ensemble that included the layette, hat, booties & bib. All with cute little duckies. So excited and looking forward to our little baby to arrive next year and dress him or her in this outfit.

Thank you very much guys for baby's first gift.

Boy or Girl?!?! Girl or Boy?!?!

This Friday, August 27th @ 8:00 am we find out if baby Saar is a boy or a girl?!?! So excited to know and to no longer call our little peanut "it" but rather baby boy or baby girl. Actually I go between referring to our baby as "it" as well as "him". I think it's better to call, it, him, even if, it, turns out to be a she. :)

After Friday's appointment, it is time to get rolling as there is so much to do before he or she arrives. Since I'm 19 weeks, we'll also register for birthing classes when at the hospital on Friday, go decide on baby furniture and get that all ordered as well as start figuring out bedding and how to decorate baby's room. Wow. So much to do in the next 20 weeks. Bring it! Looking forward to knowing the sex of our little bun in the oven.

I know it is probably hard since we don't live in AZ any more so most of you haven't seen me since I first announced we were pregnant, but do any of you have a hunch as to if boy or girl? If so leave a comment. I have a haunch and let me just say I think it is opposite of what Jeff thinks we're having. I guess only Friday will tell for sure.

We'll keep you posted after Friday's appointment!!! :)

Smorgasbord

With my slacking on this blog, there is a lot I need to catch you all up on.

Starting with April, when one of my very best friends, Natalie, got married. Natalie and I go back 22 years. Natalie & her husband, Brian, met back in Law School. They are both so smart and also sooooooo much fun. They had a lovely wedding in San Diego, CA and I was honored to be a bridesmaid in their wedding!

Me & the Bride...have been friends since we were 5

The beautiful bride & her girls

Again, Congratulations Nat & Bridy and all the best to you and your life together as husband & wife. We love you guys!

Results are in….we’re pregnant

One of the many tests I took to make sure...sooooo happy with the results window!

Ever since moving to Denver, Jeff and I have been really good about exploring anything & everything in this beautiful state we now call home. We try new restaurants weekly, and take day trips to places like Breckenridge, Boulder, etc. We’re having a blast learning all about our new home state.

Our first trip to Boulder

How we announced we were pregnant to our parents

Frame reads: "Reserved for Baby Saar, expected to arrive January 17, 2011. xoxo Jeff & Meghan"

Of course with my parents living in Dubai, UAE, they got to see their frame over Skype before we placed it in the mail. We are thankful we decided to do it that way rather than wait for it to arrive for them to find out because it took 6 weeks for it to arrive once it was sent. The UAE government held on to it for 4 weeks before delivering to my parents. Blahh.

I changed my hair color….started off very dark

It is no longer this dark but you'll see what it now looks like in my next post. The current color is more honey/caramel blonde yet not close to bleach blonde like was before. I like the current color but sure I will be back to super blonde again one of these days. That’s the great thing about hair color, you can change it and have fun, experiment and if do not like the outcome, always go back.

There is so much more I could write and update you all on but that is it for now. I’m tired and need my sleep.

Be back again soon.
xoxo

January 17, 2011

I know I titled this latest post with a date. However it is something big I should have probably shared weeks ago, but with all the naps, working and life, I been slacking on this whole blogging thing. Anyway, I didn't know how to title this big news and figured the date was the best idea I could come up with.

So what is so special about January 17, 2011? Our baby is due!! That's right folks, I'm pregnant. We have less than two weeks until we find out if it is a boy or girl. Woo hoo!

Anyway, that's the big news I definitely needed to post A.S.A.P. Now you know. Now I can post other things about it since the cat is out of the bag on our blog.

Here's a cute little pregnancy ticker I created for me to track it. Last time I had a countdown was our wedding and I knew the exact countdown to our wedding at all times. I love big and exciting events, especially when they are worthy of a countdown ticker. This is definitely one of those events so I made a cute little countdown online.

It's past midnight here so I'm off to bed. More posts to come again soon.

xoxo

Now let's just see what I can remember from the prior weeks (actually last two months) and get you all up to snuff on the latest in our lives over that time. I'll make it a point to blog more frequently now and keep you updated in real time. Be back to actually give you updates soon. xoxo
