Rain, Rain & more....Rain

What is the weather like where you live this time of year? Arizona is generally sunny with four days of rain in January and the same goes for February. But not this year. Arizona has seriously been experiencing very abnormal weather in 2010. And by abnormal, I am referring to a lot of rain, clouds and not the usual continuous days of nothing but sun. Now don't get me wrong, we have still had many sunny days with the temperatures in the 60's, however the amount of rainy days so far is odd for us. I truly think this is what is must be like to live in the Pacific Northwest. In January alone, Arizona had more rainfall than we usually get in the first six months of the year. Of course, all this rain is making the landscape show colors other than the various tans we're used to, I'm seeing green everywhere. I love the brighter landscape and the change. Rain is something the desert always needs more of. Although, I miss the sun and would very much like to lay out and get some vitamin D, I'll take the change in weather and keep applying my fake bronzer to my face so I don't get mistaken for Casper....for now. That's the latest in Arizona....lazy rainy days until the sun shows its face again.

Blood Into Wine Movie & Premier

Over the past year, Jeff has been involved with a movie, "Blood Into Wine". Most of you have probably received at least one e-mail from Jeff about the movie, however I wanted to post about the Premier itself and share with you this event.

You can check out the movie trailer at http://www.bloodintowine.com/. The Premier was held at The W Hotel in Scottsdale and it was a blast. It was a sold out event and left for a very eclectic crowd (a.k.a - fabulous people watching). A variety of Arizona wines that were featured in the movie, were poured the entire night. Wines from Caduceus Cellars, Arizona Stronghold and Page Spring Cellars, were flowing and able to be enjoyed by everyone at the event. If you haven't already, I highly suggest you go find them at your local Whole Foods Market or online and give them a try. Arizona truly can produce some amazing wines! The movie itself is beyond great; it is very creative, funny and insightful. There is so much I want to tell you about the movie but I feel you need go to see it for yourself and I am sure you won't be disappointed.

I posted the single picture taken by my camera that night. I wanted to capture the fun of the night, not to mention good times with our great friends from Colorado. They too are involved with the movie and came out to Arizona for the Premier. However funny thing about this photo; I had to position my camera on the bed of a truck in the parking garage before going into the Premier. There were no cameras allowed for the event so I was sad thinking this would be the only photo to remember our night by. Thankfully I was wrong and there were some professional photos taken at the Premier. :) Click on the links below to check out some actual Red Carpet photos of us from that night. Thanks to Triyar Entertainment Group for supplying these images:

If you couldn't make it to the premier, check out http://www.bloodintowine.com/screenings for a list of local theatres near you that will be showing the film for a limited time.

Thanks so much Matt & Jenny for attending the premier and being guests in our home; we had a great time!!

To Blog or Not to Blog?!?!

Seriously, this has been a long time coming. We (really Megs more than Jeff) wanted to start a blog around the same time we were married. We were supposed to move to the South East a month after our wedding. Thought at the time, was what better way to keep friends and family up to date on life as newlyweds living clear across the country, than with a blog...right?!?! Except, the move did not happen in the end and that also meant the blog never came to life. :( After all since we didn't move, we didn't see the point to having a blog. It's just us, we don't have kids and now we have majority of our friends and family in Arizona to occupy any free time we have. Megs also starting thinking, would we have time to blog? Would anyone care if we had a blog? Now as we approach our 2nd Wedding Anniversary Megs has yet again been pondering starting a blog. So the question today is...To Blog or Not to Blog...well we say yes, we are finally starting a blog. Regardless if people truly are interested, it's time. If we don't think we have the time, we can make the time. As with anything you want to do, if you truly want to do it, you can make/find time for it. There are always some days that are busier than others but that means you either wake up earlier or push back dinner to fit in what you have on your to-do list. We take this same thinking and approach and apply it to all aspects of life, no excuses. From working out, catching up with friends, running errands, keeping up with Meg's latest craze (currently...eating mostly fresh fruit & veggies….which takes tons of preparation). Regardless of what it is you need/want to get done, you can always find an extra five minutes or however long it may take to get something done you want to accomplish. As we start our blog, we cannot say how much content will be added and how on top of things we'll be but this should be a fun new adventure. Our posts might not always be the most interesting either, but we'll do what we can to keep you from falling asleep while catching up on the latest. And along the way, please excuse the grammar. We hope you enjoy and thanks for following us. Lots of love...Jeff & Megs
