Reason for this post though is not a fun rhyme or something fun, rather something we have to do and everyone in our house does not enjoy! There are many things you have to do as a parent. Especially a parent to a new born baby. The one that is not fun, for anyone....cleaning out the nose of a baby. The baby does not enjoy one second of it and either do the parents. This is the least fun task for parents. The worst of diapers are nothing compared to this task. Our little guy cries, more like wails every time! Breaks our hearts but it needs to be done. Only way to clean out his little nose and it MUST be done so he can breath. It is something we have to do. Trust me, I would love nothing more than to have a nurse come to our house daily to do it for us, but that isn't reality. Jeff does a much better job at it getting Carters' nose cleaned out. He is more efficient and gets more out every time, I think it is because I give up to easily so he'll stop crying.

Although Carter isn't necessarily the biggest fan of the saline step before using the nasal aspirator, he does enjoy it more than the actual use of the nasal aspirator and it helps us get the "goods" out.
Only good thing about this daily parental task, is no stuffy nose for our little guy.
Yes... I definitely don't miss that! Although... now I have little nose pickers, so maybe that was better! I have heard the NoseFrida is fab and works wonders. Check it out. :o)
ReplyDeleteGood point Jules. Love to hear someone mention the NoseFrida. That came up when I was researching other possible methods but wasn't sure if it was legit. Happened to find a doctor down the street from our house that sells it; going to go check it out! Will let you know
