First Day of "School"

September 11th this year was a big day in our house. Carter started his first day of "School". The program is called PDO, which stands for Parents Day Out. A local Presbyterian church offers this wonderful play based program where he attends one day per week. We chose for him to attend every Tuesday. He is there for four hours a day! Wahoo. This is the only FREE time I have every week. I would love to say I go do something crazy every week for the four hours he has class, but no, it's a way to get errands completed that I am otherwise not as efficient completing when taking my little man around with me everywhere. No need to focus on snack time, if I brought water or milk or if a dirty diaper needs changing.

Carter LOVES.LOVES.LOVES school. He adores his two teachers and his seven classmates, too. He actually runs into class every week, shouts out his two teachers names, "Julie, Tami", goes up to each one and gives them a big hug and tells them each "hi" in the most enthusiastic and adorable voice ever. Then he starts with either his daily art project or with puzzles.

He looks forward to class every week. He pretends to call his classmate friends from his pretend phone all the time. He loves it and we do too. Could not be happier with where he is going every Tuesday, the location, the people and the program. Happy a friend referred us to this program and thankful we all love it so much.

Here are some photos from Carter's 1st Day of School on 9/11/12

Made him some protein fruit pancakes to start his morning off right

Did not want to let go of his lunch box and held it for the entire drive while saying, "ooo, ooo, ahhh, ahhh" (Monkey Sound)

12/12/12

Today is December 12, 2012, or 12/12/12. It is the Century's last sequential date. They say there will not be another sequential date until 1/1/1301 (01/01/01). I think it is a date that looks cool but it is also cool fact to know we'll never experience a date like this again in our lifetime.

In our family of three, we also recognized today that our little man turned 23 months old. That means we are one month away from him being two. When people have asked him this past week how old he is...his response has been, one! That will only be true for one more month. Not sure how he learned that response but also cannot believe that in one months time he'll need to answer two, and so will I.

I captured an adorable picture while we were all playing tonight before bed. I told him to say, "Happy Birthday Carter" and when he was done repeating that, he gave me this huge smile! Thanks buddy for the cute smile to capture today's date and your 23rd month of life!! Mommy & daddy love you little man! xoxo

Where has the time gone

Oh my, tomorrow marks one year since our last blog post. Seriously?!?! A year? How has that much time passed already. When you have a child it seems to go by in the blink of an eye. As soon as we became pregnant, everyone, even strangers, would tell us to enjoy every day because with a child it goes by too fast. Those people, were.NOT.kidding!

Hard to believe, Carter, is no longer an infant but now a toddler. I feel like he was just born, how is he a toddler already. Over the past year, he has done so much, learned so much and taught Jeff and I so much. It has truly been an amazing year. I look forward to what the years to come hold for me as a woman, a wife and a mother, and hold for our family of three, but for now I  focusing on and enjoying living in the now.

Christmas, has always been my favorite holiday. However it is just getting better. Never thought it possible for it to get any better, but when experiencing it through the eyes of our little boy who thinks everything is amazing, fun, exciting and in his words, "wow", it truly is the best it could be. Wishing you and yours an amazing December and reminding you to enjoy and cherish every day because the time goes by too fast and before you know it, you'll be asking yourself, where has the time gone.

Hope to be back soon.

Blog Challenge, day 25: Pedialyte type of day

Today, Carter is 11 months old. However I do not foresee me taking his 11 month picture today and posting it. That is because he is sick. After sleeping in until 8:33 this morning, he violently threw up all over us both while I was trying to feed him his bottle. Completely makes sense why he was so finicky taking his bottle and after 20 minutes still hadn't finished it. Also explains even more why he didn't really want it in the first place. Completely unlike him. He is a big eater. Other than this mornings episode of being sick he is happy, active and taking naps. Today is going to be a pedialyte type of day. Sure wish the hubs wasn't out of town on business on today of all days. Did I mention I am also trying to paint our dining room. Hard with a very mobile & active guy and a traveling hubs and now add under the weather baby. Love my fun and regularly hectic days the more mobile Carter continues to become. As for the past few days of missed posts. It is what it is. I underestimated how difficult it would be with the hubs gone on all these business trips and our little man occupying all my hours. Not to mention how exhausted I am when he goes to bed I am soon to follow right after when it's just me all day. Although I never want Carter sick and makes for a less productive day, I enjoy every minute of the extra snuggle time he wants. Here is a picture taken so far today. Like I said, happy and active so pictures don't show a sick boy. Makes me happy.

Blog Challenge, day 19: Snow

We have had quite a bit of snow the past week. With some very low temperatures (-7). Thankfully the low temps were only around for one day. Other than that it has been mid teens to high 20's/low 30's. Today however was 42. I felt like busting out my flip flops, tank top & shorts. Not really, but close enough. Remember we are closer to the sun here in Colorado, so as long as the sun is out & shinning bright, a cold day can seem much warmer than it should. This AZ native however is learning that doesn't mean there still isn't ice on the ground among all the leftover snow on the roads. Thank goodness for 4 wheel drive vehicles!

Here is a picture of little man looking out at the snow Monday. Temps at the time were 6 degrees outside. Brrr it didn't get warmer than 10 degrees that day so the only place we made it to out of the house was the gym and that was all I could handle for me and little man.

Blog Challenge, day 18: Trip to AZ for two

Carter & I took a trip to Arizona for a few days beginning of November. There was a very important and big reason for going, my dad, Carter's Gampa was in the Country!!! Prior to this trip, we hadn't seen him since Carter was just over three weeks old. He has been dearly missed and we were very excited to get to see and stay with him for a few days. Gampa was trying to make it out to Colorado to visit our family of three however his reasoning for being in Arizona continued to be prolonged so he flew us out to see him.

There are possibly close to 50-75 more photos from our five days with Gampa, but they are on his camera and computer. Once he shares them with us (Internet connection is not the best where he currently is), I will do a post of photos that he captured. Wish I had them on my camera to share now because I captured so many wonderful shots of Carter & Gampa together. And Carter getting away with too much while he was visiting Gampa too. While there we also got to see Jeff's parents, Grandparents and brother, as well as my Grandma Vi. Carter had five days of family fun and getting loved on by grandparents and Great-Grandparents.

Thank you dad for flying us out and treating us to such an amazing and wonderful time. You are missed more than words can express. We are looking forward to seeing you again in January, this time in Denver when we celebrate little man's 1st Birthday!

Love and miss you & see you again soon!

Blog Challenge, day 17: Goodbye infant carrier hello Convertible Car seat

We have said goodbye to our infant carrier recently and hello to our stage 2 convertible car seat for young Carter. Although it was beyond heavy carrying him in his infant carrier because the two of them combined weighed a lot, I loved our infant carrier. And have now realized how EASY it was to not only switch between cars because of the base that stayed in each car but also the convenience of being able to carry him into places without having to take him out if he was asleep.  That is no longer the case since I cannot just take him into a place in his stage 2 car seat and the base is attached to his new "big boy" seat so to switch between cars has become a lot more difficult and somewhat a pain. Oh well. I still love it.

Adios Peg Perego infant carrier and hello Recaro convertible seat!!
