We have been on the hunt for new pillows since I can remember. At least the past 8 weeks. Of course, what have we been trying to find? Decorative pillows, throw pillows or pillows to sleep on. I wish it was one of the first two, those are easier but nope it's the latter. We're trying to find the same pillows we already have and sleep with. Our current pillows are the best ever (in our opinion). Extremely comfortable. Perfect amount of fluffiness and support. Perfect height. They let your head sink in at just the right and acceptable amount. Without sinking too much and the outer edges of the pillow coming up and surrounding your face to make you feel claustrophobic. They are also perfect no matter what position you choose to sleep; side, back or stomach. The most conducive pillows for a cozy, relaxing and peaceful sleep. Of course, if they are so great, why are we trying to replace them? Because they are over 5 years old and they are not as perfect and comfortable as they once were (tear, tear). I didn't think it would be such a Herculean sized task when I started us on this new search. I thought it would be as easy as going to The Great Indoors and buying the replacements. Oh boy was I wrong. They don't carry the same brands they did 5 years ago and the ones they carry now, do not even begin to compare to what we currently have. We have tried pretty much every variety at Great Indoors with no luck. Then even started searching EVERY other retailer known to carry pillows. I feel bad because we have been to so many home stores over the past 8 weeks, with no luck. We buy a couple pillows, take them home, use them for a couple days or more and then take them back and start using our old pillows again as we continue the search. I am about to give up. Now with all these times having no luck, I am starting to have no faith in any pillows being the right ones. To be quite honest, I am sick of the back & forth that usually goes along with us finding new pillows we think might be "the ones", only to be bamboozled that they are going to be returned. Uggh! It's not efficient and it is so very frustrating. I even searched the Internet high & low. Seems as though I'm not the only one trying to find this exact model number pillow we currently use. Others are on the same quest out there (thanks to their posts on pillow websites). Maybe it's wrong, but it makes me feel a little better we're not the only ones. Last place I decided to check, the manufacturers site. Of course they have new updated pillows. What? Why fix something that's not broke? Can they please make the same pillow they did years ago? Is that to much to ask? Unfortunately, I think so. I'm sure their new ones are new & improved but how do I know which one is the right one to order? I don't. Then the hesitation to go through this again sets in. Especially since now it would be ordering online, dealing with shipping and in the instance they don't work, shipping them back. Not the biggest fan of that idea. For now we'll keep using our old pillows until we can find one's we're perfectly satisfied with and make them the final replacements. Hopefully we'll find the new perfect replacement pillows one day (preferably sooner than later). Maybe I'll even call a couple hotels we have stayed at in the past and remember their pillows being oh so amazing. Hopefully they sell the pillows they use in their rooms. That was Jeff's idea. He's the smart & creative one. I'll keep you posted (even though you probably don't care) on what happens in the end with this painful pillow search. xoxo

And I'm guessing it's a no on the Heavenly Pillows??? We like ours... the non-feather ones from the W store. :o)
ReplyDeleteActually that was another suggestion by Jeff. You would think we would since we have the W bed. I am just overwhelemed and frustrated now. I loved what we had. I'll look into the Heavenly pillows (feather alternative of course) and let you know how they shake out. :)
