June 24, 2011 - Closing
We have been building a house since late 2010. We first met with our builder September of last year and took two months going over all the details and analysis and finally signed the contract November. Ever since then, we have been in the "building" phase. That is until Friday, June 24, 2011. We both took the day off from work so we could focus on the days events. Our day started by getting our little nugget ready for school (what we call daycare) and dropping him off together. Arrived at our soon to be Home for our 9am final walk-through inspection. Didn't take long as there wasn't much we found at the inspection week before (thanks to our wonderful builder). Back to our Apartment (cannot wait to be out of so very soon) by 9:45 and went to the Closing at 10:30. Had the keys to OUR HOUSE (yipppeee) and then off we went to eat lunch before we took over our first load of stuff to our new place, we now call home.
The most exciting part of the day for me, was at the end of the closing, after they gave us our copy of the signed documents and they handed us our four keys to OUR NEW HOME!!! I was like a kid in a candy store, with a smile that went from ear to ear and had to contain myself so I didn't jump out of my seat in excitement.
We've moved the small stuff in all weekend and then anxiously awaited the movers who moved the big stuff in on Wednesday.
We have spent a few nights now in our home and couldn't happier. Our house feels like a home and we love it.
This weekend already has a LONNNNNNGGG to-do list of all the places we need to hit up for various things like a grill, lawn tools, Costco goods (we have STORAGE and TONS of space now...woo hoo), furniture stores (we have nooooo furniture for this place) and the list goes on. However we are in love with our new home that we picked out all the details for and for our new project to make our House officially our Home.
