Baby Boy's Latest picture

Last Monday, November 22nd, we had our 32nd week ultrasound.  It is always so exciting to have an ultrasound appointment.  Jeff and I went off to the hospital that morning for our latest ultrasound.  These appointments are a time we get to see the developmental progress of our little guy and in addition to hearing how things are progressing, hopefully get a good updated 3D picture of him too.  As you know from previous ultrasound posts, he hasn't been the most cooperative when it comes to getting a clear look at his face.  He gets shy (or what I am calling shy) and puts his hands in front of his face every time, without fail.  Up to this point, we really have only gotten a partial look at his face because he is covering the rest up with a arm and hand.  This ultrasound went a little differently (well at the start).

When the tech started the ultrasound, she started off with the usual procedure of looking at his developmental progress first of his organs and body size.  She started off looking at his brain development, head and taking measurements of those things.  As she moved on with the ultrasound, she got to a front view of his face.  I was so excited at this point that I shouted out that for once his hands aren't in front of his face.  She decided we should try for a good 3D picture then while this view was not be obstructed by either of his arms or hands!!

Low & behold, our little guy
I know I am biased as his mother, but he is so adorable.  He has cute little cheeks, the most precious nose and some fabulous big lips.  Thank you little guy for letting us get a full on view of your face.  We already love you so much and are looking forward to meeting you in the next few weeks.

The tech went back to get more after she captured this one and he was up to his old ways again, arm and hand in front of his face.  What a little funny guy he already is.  Being a "stinker", if I do say so myself.  I am thankful for the one fabulous 3D photo they were able to capture though (thanks buddy).  The tech after a few more tries went on to the normal ultrasound wand and finished checking out our little guy.  Everything looks great and actually a little ahead of schedule for how he is developing.  Latest stats of our little boy we learned from the ultrasound:

  • He weighs 4lbs 3oz (as of 11/22/10)
  • Head is measuring bigger by just over 1 full week
  • He in total is measuring 4 days ahead of schedule; due date was moved up to 1/13/10, because the developmental progress his organ and body parts have made as of that appointment
  • He has a "ton" of hair on his head ("ton" was word used by the tech)..we have a picture to show it....see below

That is the latest on our little baby boy.  Technology truly is amazing.  Love our ultrasounds and love seeing the progress our little guy has made since the last ultrasound.  Looking forward to our next one...only 3 more weeks.
